Emure-Ekiti Royal Lineage - Historical Insight 

Since 1780 when Emure people came from Igbo-Owa to the present site called Emure Ijaloke, now known as Emure-Ekiti, eight Obas (kings) had ruled in the kingdom before HRM Oba Alayeluwa Emmanuel Taiwo Ogunleye II Amugbayanwo (Ajirotutu VI) was enthroned in 1965. He thus became the ninth (9th) Elemure, ruling from 1965 to 1974. All of them came from the Adumori Ruling House.

The first ruler (Elemure) at the present site was Adumori Ogunragaboja (1780 – 1845). The royal line, Adumori Ruling House was named after him. The Elemure’s profiles are as follows:

5. Oba Adeyemi Ayibiowu Atobatele (Ajirotutu III):                               1908 – 1924
6. Oba Joseph Ogunloye Arosoye (Ajirotutu IV):                                 1924 – 1931
7. Oba Ogunleye I Odundun (Ajirotutu V):                                           1931 – 1952
8. Oba Peter Adebayo Ajimudaoro Aminmin II:                                    1953 – 1963
9. Oba Emmanuel Taiwo Ogunleye II Amugbayanwo (Ajirotutu VI):    1965 - 1974

The nine Obas (Kings) mentioned above originated from the Adumori Ruling House. The present ruler is HRM Elemure Oba Emmanuel Adebowale Adebayo, Atayero bi Agogo Aminmin III, the Grandson of Oba Peter Adebayo Ajimudaoro, Aminmin II and he also hails from the Adumori Ruling House.
